Every tree planted is a vote for the future. In Rajsamand — a region blessed with hills, rivers and open skies — trees are not just greenery; they are the lungs of our community. Yet rapid urbanisation, rising temperatures and changing rainfall patterns remind us that we cannot take nature for granted.
At Circle CAA, our Green Rajsamand initiative has planted more than 1,000 trees across schools, roadsides, water catchment zones and public parks. But beyond the numbers, what makes plantation drives meaningful is the human story behind every sapling.
The Science of Planting
A single mature tree absorbs up to 22 kg of CO₂ per year and releases enough oxygen for two people to breathe. In urban settings, tree cover can lower local temperatures by 2–8°C, reducing the heat island effect that makes city summers unbearable. Root systems prevent soil erosion, replenish groundwater tables and create microhabitats for birds, insects and soil microorganisms.
When communities plant trees together, they are not just improving air quality — they are building resilience against climate change, floods and droughts that increasingly threaten agricultural livelihoods in rural Rajasthan.
Circle CAA’s Approach
Our plantation drives are never one-day events. We believe in post-plantation responsibility. Every volunteer who plants a sapling is encouraged to adopt it — to water it, protect it and watch it grow. We keep records, revisit plantation sites and celebrate survival milestones.
We partner with schools to set up eco-clubs, giving students a sense of ownership over their green patches. Teachers report that students who participate in plantation drives show greater environmental awareness, better understanding of ecosystems, and a sense of pride in their community.
You Can Make a Difference
You do not need a forest or farmland to make a difference. Plant a tree in your courtyard. Encourage your apartment society to green their common areas. Support a local NGO — like us — that works to restore degraded land. Volunteer on the next plantation drive.
The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is today. Join Circle CAA and be part of Rajsamand’s green future.
